290-2020 – Masks do work

Today’s photo of the day, part of “a photo a day challenge 2020”, is about a discovery I’ve made about masks, and I can say with 100% certainty that masks do work…when painting the fence!

Mask do work…when painting the fence

Painting the fence when self isolating is the perfect excuse to wear a mask and “protect” everyone around you against COVID-19. My family lost someone already because of this virus, due to the lack of care in Romanian hospitals, since almost all of them are focused on treating patients with COVID-19 and neglect or refuse to treat patients with every other disease. My father-in-law had a stroke a few months ago at 6am and according to the medical staff nobody looked at him until 5pm that day. We’ve had no access in the hospital and no way of verify any of the information. We were passed from one department to another and nobody was able to tell us clear information about his conditions. Doctors were nowhere to be found and the nurses on the phone, apart from being rude they were not able/allowed to provide details about his condition. He spent one week in a coma, and due to COVID-19 restrictions no family member was allowed to visit and talk to him. After all this, even if he never had COVID-19 I think is safe to say that the virus “killed him”.
